Iranian authorities and Russian United Aircraft Corporation are now holding talks on sale of a license to produce medium range Tu 204-100 and regional Tu 334. The terms of license transfer will be discussed during the next stage of the talks, which is to take place in February, 2008. The license for assembly of Tu 204 is preliminary estimated at $3 billion.
If the parties bring the negotiations to a satisfactory conclusion, Iran may well start assembling Russian planes in 2011.
Today the license for production of Tu family planes belongs to OJSC Tupolev.
