The much promising sequel The Irony of Fate 2, or Enjoy Your New Happiness! directed by Timur Bekmambetov gathered $ 7 million within the first weekend of its general release.
      
      Altogether more than 900 copies of the film have been supplied to Russian cinemas, Vremya Novostei informs.
      
      The newspaper also reports, that about 7 million people watched the original film The Irony of Fate by Eldar Ryazanov in cinemas in 1976 after it was broadcast on the central Russian TV.
