The Winter Palace of the Hermitage Museum welcomes visitors to the exhibition Numismatic Relics of Old Greece, Rome and Byzantium: from Antiquity to the Middle Ages.
      
      The coins displayed at the exhibition feature Olympic gods, patrons of nature, cities, farming and handicraft. Apart from coins with mythological symbols, there are coins bearing Christian images as well.
      
      The exhibition presents only a small part of the ancient treasures harbored in the Hermitage collection.
