A monument to Emperor Alexander II will appear in the town of Shakhty of Rostov region.
A bronze sculpture featuring the Russian Emperor on horseback will be five-meters high and be mounted on a granite pedestal in the centre of the town next spring.
Presently the project estimate documents are being processed. The author of the monument is the Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Isakov, yugmedia.ru reports.
After the death of Emperor Alexander II the settlement of Grushevskoe (Shakhty town nowadays) was renamed into Alexandrovsk-Grushevsky.
