Whitbread and Russian Rosinter Restaurants Holding have launched Costa Coffee shops chain in Russia, states the official press-release. According to the newly signed agreement, over 200 Costa Coffee shops will be opened in Russia in the next five years.
The first outlets are to appear in Moscow and St Petersburg, then, Costa Coffee stores will expand to other Russian regions. Taking into account that the cost of opening one coffee shop is estimated at $100-200 thousand, the volume of investments in the five-year project may reach $40 million.
Costa is a subsidiary company of Whitbread operating 923 coffee shops in 20 countries overseas. OJSC Rosinter runs several chains of casual dining restaurants, among them IL Patio, Planet Sushi, T.G.I. Friday’s and Sibirskaya Korona in 24 cities of Russia, the CIS countries and Central Europe including the Baltic States.
