Nizhni Novgorod has set the record in the category The Longest Round Dance inside One Premise in Russia.
The members of the event were guests of the Night of Fulfilling Wishes arranged in one of the shopping malls of the city on December 6. A live khorovod (i.e. round dance) chain of 2 250 people spread over the four floors of the building. Thus, the khorovod turned to be 12 and half meters high. On each floor the khorovod was lined up in a serpent-like shape, its total length reaching 1008 meters.
For ten minutes the khorovod was dancing to New Years songs for five minutes moving in one direction and for five minutes in the opposite direction. The record was registered by the editor-in-chief of the Book of Guinness Records of Russia Alexei Svistunov who had arrived in Nizhni Novgorod specially for that purpose.
