Circus Legend Natalya Durova Passed Away

The famous Natalya Durova, the Peoples Artist of the USSR and Russia and the granddaughter of the legendary animal trainer Vladimir Durov, has died, aged 74, in Moscow.
Natalya Yuryevna Durova was born on April 13, 1934. Her bright talent manifested itself at an early age, when the four-year-old girl first took the circus arena together with her father. Along with her father Natalya performed for soldiers at the frontlines and at the age of nine was awarded with the Guards badge, presented to her by Marshal G.K. Zhukov.
The outstanding animal trainer Natalya Durova spent more than 60 years of her life working with animals, many of which were considered absolutely untamable.
