Russian Gazprom and Italian Eni have signed a supplement to the memorandum of understanding, which implies creation of a joint venture to undertake a feasibility study for South Stream project. The companies agreed to get a 50% stake each, though a third party may join the project later.

Gazprom and Eni also implement Blue Stream project together. The gas pipeline carries natural gas from Russia to Turkey.
