Russia and Japan to Construct High-Speed Railway

Russia and Japan have made agreements on formation of a permanent expert group for developing a project of construction a high-speed railway Moscow-Nizhniy Novgorod based on technologies of Japanese trains Shinkansen that can reach speed of over 300km/h.
      According to governor of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region Valeriy Shantsev, the tasks of the joint group of experts will include consideration of all financial and technical aspects concerning construction of a high-speed railway line Moscow- Nizhniy Novgorod. Over 40 Japanese companies have united their efforts for working out all detail of the project.
      Supposedly the project will be financed by both private organization and the federal budget. The capital investments have been preliminarily estimated at 300 billion RUB.
