Leader of Italian communists Oliviero Diliberto suggests moving Lenin’s corpse to Rome if the Russian government decides to bury the body. Oliviero Diliberto made this proposal in Moscow after a visit to Lenin mausoleum due to the 90th anniversary of the October Revolution 1917.
The proposal of Italian communists` leader caused thunderous polemics in the Rome Senate. The Italian parliament sticks to the opinion that Oliviero Diliberto was only joking after having a glass or two of vodka.
Russian human rights` defenders insist that the corpse must be buried in a traditional way. At the same time Lenin’s niece Olga Ulyanova speaks against burying Lenin’s body at another place.
Many Russian citizens consider Lenin’s tomb to be one of the main and most symbolic Russian attractions. It has been estimated that around 150 million people have visited the mausoleum since it was built.
