In the course of St. Petersburg delegation’s visit to the Czech Republic the Russian company Vagonmash and Czech rail vehicle manufacturer Skoda Transportation signed a contract on cooperation in projecting, production, and supply of new trains for St. Petersburg underground.
As the press-service of St. Petersburg administration reports, the city’s governor Valentina Matvienko and Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek participated in the ceremony of contract signing. According to St. Petersburg governor, the trains will be used not only in the northern capital of Russia but also in other Russia cities.
In 2006 the volume of external trade between Russia and Czech was $US118.4 million and grew 43% compared to 2005.
