The Russian air alliance AiRUnion, that is planning a wide-scale upgrade of their aircraft park, has started holding negotiations with the leasing company CIT Aerospase over purchasing 6 Boeing-787 Dreamliner planes. According to director executive of AiRUnion Alexander Silvestrov, the first two aircraft could be supplied in spring of 2013, and the other four – in 2014 and 2015.
If the contract for an order of Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft is made, AiRUnion will become the first air company in Russia to buy planes of this model. Earlier two other Russian air companies – Aeroflot and S7 signed contracts on purchasing of the aircraft; they will get the first ordered planes in 2014. Therefore, at the moment 3 Russian air companies have ordered Boeing-787 Dreamliner aircraft already.
AiRUnion alliance was formed in 2005 and consists of such air companies as KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Omskavia, Samara, and Sibaviatrans. In terms of passenger traffic the alliance became the 3rd larges air company in Russia in 2006.
