Five amusing metal sculptures of animals and fairy tales characters will be set up in the streets of Lipetsk in 2008.
The citys Architecture Department was inspired by the creation of the sculptor Akop Halafian from Sochi. His black metal compositions, the most famous of them being the humorous Kon v Palto (Horse in a Coat) decorate the streets of Sochi.
The flowerbed Donkey will adorn the promenade boulevard in Nedelina Street of Lipetsk, whereas characters from the popular Russian cartoon films 38 Parrots and The Dog in Boots will be settled in the Childrens Park. The famous quartet from Krylovs fable will be standing near a hospital, while the citys Wedding Palace will be accompanied by a couple of ostriches.
The authorities believe that these interactive sculptures will enjoy great popularity among tourists and the city dwellers.
