Three Russians Listed Among 100 Contemporary Geniuses

Three Russians have been enumerated on the list of the hundred living geniuses according to the ratio of the Synectics consulting company based on a multilevel research including a poll of four thousand British citizens.
As The Telegraph newspaper informs, the Russian geniuses are the mathematician Grigori Perelman, who rates the 9th, the chess player Garry Kasparov (25th) and Mikhail Kalashnikov (83rd), the creator the most famous submachine gun in the world. The former Soviet Republics are represented by the Ukrainian artist and sculptor Ivan Marchuk.
According to the Synectics research, the majority of contemporary geniuses live in the USA - there are 43 of them on the list. The genius list enumerates only 15 women, the actress Meryl Streep and Joan Rowling, the "mother" of Harry Potter among them. There are a big number of pop culture celebrities on the list, however, such as, for instance, the musicians Paul McCartney and David Bowie, the film director Quentin Tarantino, the writer Steven King, and others. Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and even Osama bin Laden (!) have been recognized geniuses as well.
