Russian interdepartmental supercomputer centre (ISC) of the Academy of Sciences cooperates with Hewlett-Packard and Intel corporations in creating first Russian supercomputer for solving variopus problems requiring great computational effort.
Peak performance of the computer will reach 100 teraflops in the beginning of 2008. The ISC supercomputer is compact and quite efficient, occupying only 18 server stands – compare to 32 server stands of other supercomputers – and consuming 13% less energy compared to other solutions of the kind.
Russian supercomputer stands to enter five most powerful computing machines in Europe and will be rated among 50 high performance supercomputers of the world.
