Half of Russia is Natural Reserve
Russian forest

Currently 15% of Russian territories, which shelter about two thirds of Russian population, are environmentally neglected zones with high level of destruction of natural ecosystems and soil degradation.

About 20% of our country’s territories are affected by human economical activities. However, existing ecosystems succeed in coping with anthropogenic impact. Moreover, 65 per cent of Russian territories are classified as unaffected by human activities and undisturbed ecosystems. These enormous territories can be regarded as unique natural reserve park.

Russia possesses over than 20% of plant’s forest resources. The area, covered with forests, amounts to nearly half of the country’s territories. Total forest reserves exceed 80 billion cubic meters with three thirds of valuable species.
