The descendant of the Romanovs Tsar Dynasty, Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Kulikovskaya-Romanova, currently Canadian citizen, intends to appeal for Russian citizenship.
The Grand Duchess, 83 year old heiress of the Romanovs’ dynasty, hopes that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, will show mercy to grand her the Russian citizenship. The Duchess’s family is living in Canada, but usually she spends eight months a year in Russia that’s why she would like to feel here at home.
During her present visit to Russia Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna has arrived to Karelia to hold talks about the organization of her mother-in –law’s art exhibition. The exhibition of Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna, Nikolay II’s sibling, has already been displayed in Moscow, St.Petersburg and other Russian cities.
Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna is the head of the welfare Fund ‘Russian Relief Program’, she is an honored Academician of Russian Arts Academy and a member of the Russian Writers' Union.
According to the Russian migration law, a Russian citizen can held another citizenship. According to the Canadian migration law, a Canadian citizen can’t have double citizenship. So the Grand Duchess has to rely on the mercy of Canadian authorities as well or become uniquely Russian citizen what is to prove her real love for her Motherland.
