A monument to the outstanding poet Joseph Brodsky will be set up nearby the American Embassy, in Novinsky Boulevard in the centre of Moscow.
According to the city’s principal architect Alexander Kuzmin, the monument designed by Georgy Frangulyan is a multi-level sculpture composition of plane bronze figures. One of them is a relief figure of the poet against the background of a faceless host of enviers and friends.
The sculpture and its basement will be made of tinted bronze. The monument will be surrounded with lanterns, benches, and a small fence.
The choice of the monument’s location was not occasional: it was through the American Embassy that the poet left Russia.
