Experiment: Zero Security of Russian Airports

Correspondents of the Russian newspaper Tvoy Den (Your Day) have organized an experiment at the airport in the city of Perm and without any obstacles repeated the path of the boy who flew in a wing of Boeing-737 several days ago: from the hole in the airdrome fence and to the landing gear of a plane getting ready to take off.

Despite the shocking incident with the 15y.o Russian teen who managed to quietly enter the airport’s runway area, get inside a wing of Boeing-737, and fly from the Russian city of Perm to Moscow, the airport’s administration seems to have done nothing to improve flights` security.
According to Andrey Scherbakov, the 15y.o teen, he entered the airport’s territory through a hole in the fence. Although 6 days have passed already since the incident took place, the newspaper’s correspondents easily found the hole the boy was talking about and entered the airport’s territory the same way he did.

When the correspondents had reached the runway, no one stopped to ask them what they were doing at a closed object – ¹1 target for terrorists. In the middle of the day, when all of the airport’s services were working, two men (correspondents) freely accessed a plane standing in front of the airdrome control point and looked into the plane`s right wing. Finally, one of the technicians noticed some strangers near the plane, looked at them, and…went on working.

According to the airport’s representatives, it is impossible to access the territory of the airport as it regards to closed objects. However, the airport’s administration still has not held an investigation upon of the boy’s entry to the runway and is not ready to explain how the boy could happen to access the airdrome.
