Shareholders of the Russian air company Aeroflot approved a deal on purchasing of 44 planes from such aircraft manufacturers as Boeing and Airbus, as director-general of the company Valeryi Okulov reported on Wednesday.
“89% of the shareholders attended the meeting and 99% of the attendants voted for approving the deal”, Valeryi Okulov said to journalists on Wednesday. He also marked that both Boeing and Airbus made a profitable offer to Aeroflot by promising a nearly 30% discount on the purchased planes.
Aeroflot has purchased 44 new generation aircraft: 22 planes À350XWB produced by Airbus, and 22 planes Boeing-787 Dreamliner. The deal with both aircraft manufacturers has been estimated at around US$5.81 billion.
