Swiss Federal Court in Losanna refused to give information on the case of the ex-Russian oil giant YUKOS. It’s the fist time Switzerland declines the other state request in legal help.
Few months earlier Moscow appealed to the Swiss Court to give information concerning companies and banks which dealt with YUKOS. Russian authorities state that YUKOS did illegal financial operations via banks and companies based in Switzerland.
Swiss Court regarded the YUKOS case as political and preferred to grant a Mr. Khodarkovsky, ex-YUKOS owner, and Mr. Lebedev's motion not to cooperate with Russian law instances.
Mikhail Khodarkovsky and Platon Lebedev are in Russian jail now for invasion of taxes and fraud.
