RBC: Russian Railways and Deutsche Bahn AG are going to establish two joint ventures for freight service and passenger transportation in the middle of 2005.
      
       The companies are planning to develop cargo transportation on the East Asia – China – Russia – West Europe route. Some experts believe, however, that establishing such a joint venture has more to do with politics rather than business. To organize the service on the Europe – Asia route the Russian Railways will have to become a full-fledged multimodal company.
