At the beginning of 2008 Dexter air taxi launches flights to southern Russian cities: from Rostov to Sochi, Maikop, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Donetsk, Voronezh, Anapa, and also from Sochi to Krasnodar. Air Management Group, organizer of the air taxi project, says that the company is now purchasing several Swiss planes Pilatus PC-12.
This year the company failed to launch flights to the Russian south due to the lack of home-made aircraft. This is why Air Management Group had to buy planes made in Switzerland, which cost three times more than Russian ones.
The cost of regular flights to the south of Russia is said to be approximately 15-23 roubles/kilometre (0.6 EUR) per passenger, and for charter flights – 100-120 roubles (3.4 EUR) for a whole plane regardless of the number of passengers aboard.
Experts predict that the capital of Olympics-2014 Sochi may form the highest demand on air taxi services in the region.
