Staff of the “Reader’s Digest” magazine has organized a series of unusual experiments around the world. The journalists “lost” 960 mobile phones in 32 countries and got 654 phones back, which means that the average world’s honesty level is 68%.
The best result belongs to the city Ljubljana in Slovenia where 29 out of 30 mobiles were returned. The 2nd goes Toronto – 28 out of 30.
In Paris tourists risk to say goodbye to their mobile forever – only 21 phones were returned to the owner in the capital of France. However, the other cities of old Europe show similar results: Berlin – 21, Milan and Zurich – 20, London – 19, Madrid – 18, Lisbon – 15, and Amsterdam – only 14.
In Moscow tourists have a 50% chance to get their lost mobile back – 17 phones out of 30 were returned.
In order to make the experiment fuller the journalists “lost” mobile phones not only in large trade centres but also in the criminal city districts.
