Yesterday, June 5, St. Petersburg divers found the $200.000 Hellmuth watch that a foreign tourist accidentally dropped into the water of the Neva River. According to preliminary information the watch belongs to Thomas Anders, a star of Modern Talking, who last week came to the city to give a closed private concert.
The watch, which spent nearly a week on the river bottom, went on going but the wristlet was broken. Two divers who found the watch will probably get a $10.000 reward promised by the watch owner. Hundreds of the local citizens watched the divers seek Hellmuth.
Some Russian media claim that the whole story with the watch is nothing but a good PR show. The company Hellmuth – producer of the watch, does not have a representative office in Russia, and here, with minimal expenses, the company becomes famous through the whole country. Read other news
