Moldova has said all the problems concerning wine supplies to Russia have been solved and export will soon be resumed. Russia banned Moldavian supplies March 2006. Before the ban Moldova marketed up to 80% of its wine production in the RF; later presidents of the two countries agreed on lifting of sanctions providing that the Moldavian wine production would be thoroughly tested. Moldavian winemaking companies suffered 180 million US dollars of losses due to the ban.
Moldavian wine used to be very popular in Russia and it will probably regain its positions at the market.
