Mammoths Park opens in Siberia

Wolf’s Mane sanctuary has been created in the west of the Novosibirsk Region. Some time ago unique remains of more than 200 mammoths that died nearly 12 thousand years ago, were found there. At the moment it remains unknown whether the death of the animals was caused by a natural disaster or they were killed by primitive hunters. However, one thing is beyond dispute - cave men visited this place, as some of the mammoth bones are split and some of them are processed.
The goal of creation of this natural sanctuary is to preserve and protect this unique paleontology object plus to create special conditions for holding scientific works and excursions.
