Travelling to Western Europe has become too expensive for American tourists due to the low dollar rate against the euro. Instead US tourists choose Eastern Europe, including Russia. “The number of tour orders for Poland and Russian has increased 100%. For Czech Republic this growth reaches 143%”, says Mike Pina, a representative of the American Automobile Association, which in particular deals with provision of tours abroad.
As for Western Europe, it has already encountered a deflux of tourists from the USA. According to Barbara Viale, administrator of the family hotel Colombaio near Siena, not so long time ago 90% of all hotel guests were American, while now they make up only 5% of all visitors.
