A tendency of airline food quality deterioration begins to show in Russia recently. Organizations providing airline food often do not meet the demands of sanitary norms and violate the RF legislation. 490 tests were organized in nutrition providers` companies in 2005-2006. The results revealed that 5% of all ready food and 6.7% of water showed unsatisfactory microbiological characteristics.
Moreover, the tests found that some food providers supplied products prohibited for air passengers` nutrition: such as chicken rolls, dishes made from minced meat, food with breading, salads with mayonnaise, bakery without special packing, etc. In a number of Russian regions there was found airline food that exceeded the expiry date.
