The relationships between Russia and Estonia have reached the heating point, as now hackers from both sides launched a cyber war. For several days already almost all Estonian Internet segment has been blocked for visiting from the RF. The site of the Estonian ruling party has become the first victim: hackers posted a Russian text containing apologies Prime minister must have been said to the hackers’ opinion.
Two days later the internet-version of Postimees, the leading Estonian newspaper, was attacked by spammers, who insulted Prime Minister and demanded his resignation.
Some Russian sites suffered from hackers, too. Echo of Moscow and Kommersant were among most frequently attacked. Experts think the peak of hackers’ activity will be on the eve of 9 May.

: Kommersant wasn't attacked by Estonian hackers as you suggest. Attackers of Kommersant web-site were those, who didn't like that Kommersant published Berezovsky's interview with Prosecutor General's Office. The interview casts shadow on Vladimir Putin and FSB. Echo of Moscow is a respected news channel by Estonians. Added: 04 May 2007 14:54 |

: Probably you are right, there is no information about the names and IP addresses of those, who attacked Russian web sites. Added: 04 May 2007 15:07 |

Janek
: Estonians DIDN'T attack Echo of Moscow or Kommersant websites, because we indeed respect those channels. Added: 04 May 2007 15:18 |

: Janek, you personally can neither prove nor dispose the fact that Estonians DID or DIDN'T attack Echo of Moscow or Kommersant websites. Perhaps, there are some reasons to think that they actually DID. Added: 04 May 2007 15:29 |

: Kathy - what Janek wanted to tell, was that there is no possible reason for Estonians to attack these two websites, as they seem to be one of the few still having at least some freedom on what they say. There could have been much much better targets. But even this kind of ideas will not face any good reception on Estonian irc channels - we try to remain civilized. Added: 06 May 2007 04:13 |

: It is quite natural to expect Estonians (like any other nation) to speak and think only good things about themselves. At the same time it is hard to call a nation cultivating Nazi and fascism civilized. Setting monuments to SS soldiers is not civilized. And finally, you cannot speak for all Estonian hackers, and like i said before, you cannot prove whether Estonians DID or DIDN'T attack Russian websites. Anyway, you could try to remain civilized, that`s not prohibited. Added: 07 May 2007 11:17 |

: Kathy: You miss the point, Estonia hackers who LIKE Estonia did NOT attack this sites. Ofcourse there could be some communist minded people living in estonia who does not like if someone talks bad about Putin - can not argue whit this. Estonia REMOVED this SS monument, and this was monument for Estonian soldiers who fight on german uniform against eavle communism - becouse we did not have any other uniform. We did not fight for Hitler. Soviets killed a lot more people and estonians then Nazis ever did . Please read history books - the ones whit facts! Added: 10 May 2007 22:46 |

: Waffa, do not make my hens laugh please :) Estonians didn`t have any other uniform? That`s hilarious - they could provide their soldiers with appropriate uniform. What history books should we read? Estonian ones? They distort the truth as much as the Soviet history books did, but at the same time that`s pure hypocrisy to deny that the Soviets DID contributed to liberation from Nazi. Go on, read your rewritten history books and absorb the info that you got only evil from the Soviets, especially during WW2. P.S. Was it some Estonian history book to teach you that Putin is a communist? Besides, here the talk goes around web attacks, not about Putin and commies. _____________________________ "Estonia hackers who LIKE Estonia did NOT attack this sites". - This made me smile, really, so sweet :))) Added: 11 May 2007 11:41 |
