Art of Cookery Museum Appeared in Moscow

The Moscow Museum of Public Catering from now on will be called the Art of Cookery Museum.

The museum was founded for the purpose of preserving the unique collection of authentic exhibits characterizing the art of cookery in Russia of the late 18th - early 20th centuries.

The Museum of Public Catering was opened in 1977 in the former mansion of the merchant Prosumenshchikov. The exposition of the museum (the only one of the kind in the world) includes around 12 thousand exhibits. Its unique library has hundreds of cooking books and writings on the history of Russian and foreign cuisine for two hundred years.
