US Senate Committee bans new OPEC

The US senate committee has approved a bill banning foreign countries from forming oil or gas cartel organizations, reports RIAN. The document says the USA can prosecute governments of countries violators.

According to the bill, any foreign state engaged in some joint actions in gas or oil spheres will lose its right of sovereign immunity and will be processed by the US Prosecutor-General at any court at the territory of the USA under the antimonopoly legislation of the country.

The bill has been directed to the full Senate for consideration. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared it is a sovereign right of a country to join this or that oil or gas cartel or organization.
