The creator of the famous “Hedgehog in the Fog” Yuri Norstein has made a new animated cartoon film after the Japanese hokku from the cycle "A Winter Day" by Matsuo Basho.
The idea of screening “A Winter Day” belongs to the Japanese film director Kihachiro Kawamoto, who addressed the best cartoonists of the world. Artists from England, the USA, Russia and other countries worked on 36 animated cartoon films based on the above mentioned cycle by Basho.
The animated Japanese poetry and the new cartoon film by Norstein can be seen in the framework of the exhibition about Japan, which is expected to take place in autumn in the Museum of Oriental Arts in Moscow.
