Ruble-sign to be chosen next few months

Very soon all Russian banknotes and coins will be imprinted a new symbol on – the sign of the Russian ruble.

Russian working team charged of introduction of a new sign has selected 5-7 variants out of over 100, the final result we will see before the end of the year.
Some time ago a new Act implying the ruble must have its graphic presentation came into force, but the document didn’t define the image itself. Since then lots of variants from over the country have been sent to the working team.

Today almost all world currencies have their own graphic image, which becomes the symbol of the country. However, the Russian ruble, one of the most ancient currencies, is deprived of its sign: in 19th century the ruble was represented by a symbolic 7-figure, but later it was forgotten.
