Worker and Kolkhoz Woman to Come Back

The famous monument Rabochiy i Kolkhoznitsa (Worker and Kolkhoz Woman) by Vera Mukhina will be returned to its historic place in the All-Russian Exhibition Centre (Moscow) at the latest in 2008.
      The sculptural group has long been recognized as the paragon of social realism. It became the label Mosfilm cinema studio.
      The total height of the statues reaches thirty meters. The monument was created in the mid 1930s for participation in the World Exhibition in Paris.
      The monument restoration works started in 2003 are still underway.
