Opening of the museum in the native place of Tarkovsky
2.11.2004 00:00

A historic and cultural museum opens in the old settlement of Zavrazhye (Kostroma region), where the outstanding Russian film director Andrey Arsenyevich Tarkovsky was born on April, 4, 1932.
One cannot imagine the art of the XX century without Andrey Tarkovsky. He triumphantly entered the world of art, yet his creative life was full of hardships. During the 25 years of work on the Mosfilm studio he created only five films, and his last two films were shot abroad. Andrey Arsenyevich greatly suffered from seeing the imperfections of human beings, yet as a genuine Russian artist, he firmly believed in man and revival.
The new museum has become another step on the way to perceiving Tarkovsky, the journey in search of genuine moral values, spiritual support and the heritage of our predecessors.
