Prominent Poet Ilia Kormiltsev Passed Away in London

The outstanding Russian poet and translator Ilia Kormiltsev, the author of the most popular lyrics of the Nautilus Pompilius rock band and the editor-in-chief of the Ultra. Culture publishing house died of spine cancer yesterday in London.
In late January during his stay in London Kormiltsev was hospitalized to St Thomas Clinic. British doctors discovered he had spine cancer at the incurable late stage. Having no British medical insurance policy the poet was transferred to one of London hospices. Later the Russian diplomatic representatives assisted in transferring Kormiltsev to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where the poet spent his last days.
In the 1980s Ilia Kormiltsev got acclaim thanks to his lyrics for Nautilus Pompilius. Moreover, he is well-known as the translator of books by Michel Houellebecq, Tom Stoppard, Chuck Palahniuk, Jerzy Kosinski, Clive Staples Lewis, William Burroughs, Irvine Welsh, Frederic Beigbeder, and others.
The publishing house formerly headed by Ilia Kormiltsev is peculiar for its inclination to radical men of letters. In various years "Ultra. Culture" issued works by Eduard Limonov, Geidar Jemal, Alexander Prohanov, Boris Kagarlitsky, etc.
