The decision to build a sanatorium-resort zone in the area appeared after a meeting of the local administration of the Volgograd Region with the Minister of health and social development of Russia Mikhail Zurabov. Supposedly, there are several building projects: a balniological clinic and hotel, a sanatorium and entertainment centre, or a tourist-recreational complex. After the main investor is found, it will become known which of the projects is going to be brought to life.
      Local authorities hope that building of a resort complex near Lake Elton will help to find financial means for improving the ecological situation in the region, which has been in decline for decades.
