Snowless winter doesn’t confuse foreign tourists

The influx of foreign tourists to the capital hasn`t declined during New Year holidays, as the chairman of the Tourism Committee of Moscow reports.
“This year the number of foreign tourists in Russia hasn`t declined in comparison with 2006. Foreign tourists are interested in New Year holidays. More and more tourists from Britain and France are coming to Moscow”, the Informational centre of the Moscow government cites the chairman of the committee, Grigory Antyufeev.
Notwithstanding the anomalously warm weather, foreigners celebrated New Year in Red Square, where there was a skating rink and a concert organized for the first time.
“3.5 million foreign tourists visited Moscow within the first 9 months of 2006. As the final number of tourists hasn’t been summed up yet, the approximate result is as follows: about 4 million tourists visited Moscow in 2006.
Grigory Antyufeev has enumerated countries of the biggest tourist influx to Moscow: Germany, the US, France, Turkey, Britain, China, and Italy.
