Ice palace of Russian empress opened in St. Petersburg

Yesterday, December 28, masters finished their work over the ice palace devoted to the Russian empress Anna Ioannovna and set illumination to make the sight more beautiful. It is not the first time such palace is built in St Petersburg. Last year the same project was oriented to Russian culture, while this time it is devoted to Christmas.
Due to the uncommonly warm weather palace builders had to order extra ice from northern and eastern parts of the country, to maintain the melting walls. The palace is located inside a big pavilion equipped with refrigerant outfit.
The project consists of three sites, but by the moment only one of them has been introduced to the public. The two other expositions are expected to open when they are ready.
