Moscow authorities have prepared a New Year “gift” for all public transport passengers in the capital. Since the beginning of 2007 a trip by bus, trolleybus, and tram will cost 15 roubles. What is paradoxical, officially public transport fare has a 2 roubles increase, but if buy a ticket at the driver’s cabin the fare will be 10 roubles more than the new official one. Citizens, who are used to travelling by metro, will pay 17 roubles for one trip. It is also reported, that for passengers` convenience, there are now 687 tickets selling points functioning in Moscow.
Before being increased, the public transport fare in the capital constituted 13 roubles for overland transport (15 roubles if buy a ticket at the driver’s), and 15 roubles for one trip in metro.
