Russian communication satellite “Meridian”, which was recently put on its orbit, works in normal mode, says Russian space agency official.
      
      Spaceship’s elements are working properly, and “Meridian” is under control, which is considered to be a great success of rocket-and space industry.
      
      The satellite was launched from Plesetsk launching site via “Souyz-2.1A” carrying vehicle and forwarded to its orbit by means of “Fregat” transfer orbit stage.
      
      “Meridian” satellite is equipped with multiple broadcasting facilities and is expected to replace existing communication system “Express-A” based upon “Gorizont” satellites.
