Scientists from the town of Protvino of Moscow region have developed breaking technique for treating oncological diseases. The unit, designed in one of Russian science and research institutes, has no European analogues.
      
      The unit emits carbon ion beam, which scientists suggest using in cancer tumors treatment, thus eliminating the necessity of surgery. Unit’s serial production is expected to start in three years.
      
      The technique is called proton-ion beam therapy.
