Russian Academy of Sciences and Russian Orthodox Church have signed an agreement on collaboration.
The agreement intends organizing joint science research, exhibitions and publishing activities. The Academy’s representative is the Institute of General History, which is considered to be the most eminent science and research centre on studying history and culture of Christianity and relations between state and church.
Russian Academy of Sciences and Moscow Patriarchy plan to hold joint church-and-science conferences, which will result in publishing results of research in history and culture of Christianity.
Church-and-science conference “Christianity: culture and moral values” is scheduled for June 2007. Russian Academy of Sciences has taken part in re-editing of 12-volume “History of Russian Orthodox Church”, and now is contributing to “Orthodox Encyclopedia”.
