Russian designers from the Institute of Fine Mechanics and Computer technologies together with Moscow State University have developed a tiny multi-channel implant, which weighs 5 grams. The device reports data on physiological parameters of a laboratory animal.
      
      The implant registers all necessary parameters – blood pressure, temperature, encephalogram or electrocardiogram – online 24/7. Tested animal have been leading their usual way of life together with their companions in order to avoid stress of isolation, which often happens during long-term studies.
      
      The implants are inserted into laboratory animals’ organism, register necessary data and process them with a tiny processor with further transmission of data to a data processing medical server. Data can me monitored automatically, without human interference, for 1-2 months.
      
      Telemetry studies of laboratory rats are widely used in preclinical trials of new pharmaceuticals and development of human treating techniques.
