Russian Atomstroyexport to make Bulgaria the first-rate electric power exporter


      Russia will finish building a Bulgarian nuclear power plant. The Board of Directors of the Bulgarian National electrical supply company chose Russian Atomstroyexport as a contract holder responsible for NPP Belene building.
      
      The construction work is to be supported by French and German companies. The Atomstroyexport contact man announced that considering the Belene building plan the first power-generating unit would be put into operation 2011, the second one - 2013. the start-up of the NPP will make Bulgaria the first-rate electric power exporter in the region. The NPP construction started in 1987, but 15 years ago it was suspended due to various reasons.
      
      Along with Russian representatives Czech Skoda and English-American consortium Westinghouse participated in the competition. Atomstroyexport is constructing simultaneously 5 power-generating units for NPPs in China, India and Iran.
