PORNO / FACETS. Exhibition in Moscow

Mikhail Roginsky and Andrey Dyukov, Grigory Mayofis and Kirill Chelushkin, two pairs of artists representing different generations have been united by the perennial theme at the exhibition PORNO / FACETS (PORNO / GRANI). The exhibition opened in Pop/Off/Art Gallery, Moscow, on October 23.
      
      Some of the works by Mikhail Roginsky (1931 2004) though created in France are dedicated to the physiology of Soviet every day life. The graphic series of brutal erotic by Andrey Dyukov started in the early 1960s when such works were persecuted. Kirill Chelushkin presents his innovative graphic works on the subject, and Grigory Mayofis displays his series The Artist and the Model that was among the hits of the last Art-Moscow.
      
      The aesthetic views of the artists on the subject are quite different and thus represent various facets of it creating an unexpected panorama of contemporary Russian art through the prism of this exciting theme tabooed till date.
      
      The exhibition is open till November 11.
