Prophylaxis in Lenin’s Mausoleum

Lenin`s Mausoleum, one of the main and most symbolic attractions in Moscow, will soon be closed for prophylactic works. Tourists will not be allowed to visit the mausoleum from November 10 to December 26.
Specialists are planning to hold a range of biochemical procedures in order to maintain the state of Lenin`s embalmed body. Such measures have constantly been undertaken since the very opening of the Mausoleum, and the time needed for the procedures usually varies from several days to two months approximately. Russian scientists state that Lenin`s body has all chances to spend 100 more years in the Mausoleum if high-quality care and regular prophylaxis are provided.
Prophylactic works in Lenin`s Mausoleum were sponsored by the state in the previous years, however, this time one of the scientific funds finances the operation.
