Roszdravnadzor: foreign vaccines may become available in Russia after registration.
Alla Samoilova, head of Roszdravnadzor, said that foreign vaccines against coronavirus, including Pfizer / BioNTech, may become available to Russians after they are officially registered. Foreign vaccines will receive registration if their quality is confirmed.
Earlier, Tatyana Solomatina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, said that the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine can be inoculated at the Israeli Hadassah clinic in Moscow. After that, Roszdravnadzor announced that the use of a drug unregistered in Russia was impossible. In response to Roszdravnadzor, Hadassah reminded that, according to the law, clinics participating in the International Medical Cluster can use drugs not registered in Russia if they are registered in the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
In Russia, two vaccines against coronavirus are currently registered. Both are of domestic production. One of them, "Sputnik V" of the Gamaleya Center, was registered in August 2020, the first in the world. Another vaccine was developed by the Novosibirsk center "Vector". Also, Russia is testing the third vaccine against coronavirus by the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
