In Pavlovsk, the restoration of two old showcases designed to display the works of the famous jewelry
company of Carl Faberge has been completed.
The work was carried out by furniture restorer Alexey Markov free of charge as a sign of his love for the
museum.
The elegant set-wood display cases, decorated with gilded bronze, originate from the von Dervies
mansion on the English Embankment in St. Petersburg. They are captured in photographs of the
"Exhibition of Faberge's Artworks and Ancient Miniatures and Snuffboxes", which was opened in the
main halls of the mansion in 1902
While cleaning the locks inside the mechanism, the master found the brand of the key master Duvivier:
Duvivier. Paris. 77 St. Antoine.
At the turn of the XIX–XX centuries, Duvivier collaborated with the leading French furniture maker
Francois Linke. A constant participant of world exhibitions, he developed his own style in furniture – an
original combination of Rococo and Art Nouveau. Eventually he joined the pleiad of the best Parisian
cabinetmakers of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries.
